VETtrak APIs
The VETtrak APIs are a group of software products which allow the VETtrak training management system to be linked with other systems and products, allowing data to be transferred between VETtrak and the other systems. The API can be accessed by any software that can talk to a web service, allowing for a broad range of potential implementations. The four products currently available are:
- Enrol API for interfacing with Online Enrolment Systems
- EnrolLite API, a cut-down version of the Enrol API for interfacing with a simple online enrolment system
- Portal API for interfacing with portals that allow various parties to view training information online
- Integrate API for interfacing with Learning Management Systems
The API products are 'back ends' only, offering a set of functions that communicate with the VETtrak database. This occurs via a dynamic link library (dll) running on a Windows-based IIS webserver. The API is not available for other operating systems or webservers.
In order to implement the linkages mentioned above, a 'front end' will need to be developed which meets the needs of the organisation using VETtrak. This would often be in the form of a web application, although any solution which can consume web services would be suitable. OzSoft Solutions does not supply the front end, but can recommend some web development companies who are experienced in working with the VETtrak APIs.
