Dashboard, Seat and Sole
Now that the boat is right side up I can continue working on the interior. New was the seat base and sole (floor) along with the dashboard. The seat was pretty simple – just made out of 10mm plywood with a beam at the front to support it and the back and bottom joined using an slightly angled piece of timber cut on the table saw. The join between the back and bottom was also glassed over for strength.
Here is a helper testing the ergonomics.
:
The dashboard was originally made out of pine but was later discarded and made out of Tassie Oak. The pine ended up being too thick for the gauges to fit in and did not match the rest of the topsides.
Here are a few shots of the sole and seat in the boat. You can see the dashboard beam is held in place temporarily.

I positioned the sole by drilling holes for four dowels and putting in some 16mm dowels. These hold it nicely in position and I am yet to decide if I need to screw the sole down or not.

Another picture from a different angle. Can’t have too many pictures! This one is interesting as it shows the fuel lines that were to go from the fuel tank in the bow to the engine at the stern. I ended up moving the fuel tank back to the stern due to height restrictions in the bow and the recommendation of the designers to place such items at the stern.

This one is looking from the bow backwards.
