Inside Painting

I was always going to paint the inside of the boat.  At what stage to paint it was the big question.  How far through the building process do you go before painting the inside?  I stopped building and painted the inside when I had the carling in place and the deck framing on the bow in.

After much sanding to remove the lumps and bumps the inside looks like this.

Here is a closer shot of the modified engine mounting area.

And here it is with the primer on.  I sprayed two good coats of hi-build primer and put it on pretty thick to fill any little cracks.

After leaving this to dry for a day I then sprayed the same paint that I used on the outside.  It is a two-pack Dupont Imron.  It’s really touch yet flexible and I had plenty of it.  I bought four litres and still have about 1.5 litres left over.

Here it is all painted with the engine sitting in it.
