Official Launching

Finally I had the stickers on the side with the name and we just had to have an official launching.  We took the boat down to a river near the sea for this launch.  Sadly the weather was against us and it was pretty miserable and all the ceremony was conducted under cover.

Here is the finished article about to get wet.

After the official words were spoken by my wife Anne we poured the champers.  Some suggested that we should break the bottle over the bow  of the boat but we thought better of that.  Besides it was a very little bottle – it is a little boat.

The rain stopped for a moment and we took to the water.  Pictures were hard to come by as the rain poured down and it was pretty cold.

Here is a picture of the wake.  It is amazing the amount of water that gets pumped out of that little pump.

Here is a torture test.  The little boat has me sitting on the cowling (hanging on with my butt), my mate David and my son James all in the boat.  Taking off was a little tricky but not too bad.  Once underway the top speed was down but still acceptable.  The jet ski motor and pump was never designed to lift this much weight!
